Introducing the "Recessive Lilac"
Now that the recessive slate gene is back into the U.S. we can bring back a few more of the lost varieties that were once here.
This is the lilac that V.S. Asmundson created back in 1936 when he was studying a new slate mutation that came out of a bronze flock in California.
Genotype of the recessive lilac is bb rr slsl, homozygous recessive for bronze, red and recessive slate.
This is a pure, true breeding variety, meaning they will breed 100% true for recessive lilacs.
